Playing Around

My friend Monica accompanied Cooper and I on a walk to our favorite park this weekend. She was sweet enough to take some photos of us playing! I'm always delighted to get to be IN photos, despite looking the way I do every afternoon - ponytail and running shorts. Since playing around at the park is one of our most routine activities together, I'm glad to have pictures! : )

Ahhh, to be young again!

There's nothing quite like a swing set and a fast slide to bring you back to your childhood. I just delight in playing with Cooper when it's just the two of us at the park. It's even more fun to remember the experience through pictures.

Remember trying to be Superman on the swings? Meet Super Cooper!

messy face and snotty nose - - that's my boy!

Exploring

A little detour on our bike ride to the park turned into an hour of "exploring".

Colin & Dayna's Wedding

My little brother Colin married his beautiful wife, Dayna, on January 2nd. It was such a special day for our family as we welcomed a new daughter and sister officially to our family. We just adore Dayna and we rejoiced as she and Colin finally were married!

Here are the bridesmaids with the gorgeous bride. The other two girls are Dayna's dearest friends - one from college at Tech and one since elementary school. I was so honored to be part of the group that stood beside Dayna on her wedding day!
I must say, Dayna was the most relaxed, un-stressed bride I've ever known. Literally two minutes before this photo was taken, Dayna's mom informed her (gently!) that the wedding cake has suffered an "accident" and would now be one tier shorter and adorned with flowers snatched from the sanctuary bouquet. "Oh, that's okay!" was Dayna's response... beautiful!

My sweet Cooper stayed with his first-ever babysitter (a teacher from his preschool) while we took pictures at the church before the wedding. The plan was for him to wear a tux, sit quietly through the ceremony, smile for the family photo, then go home for pizza, a movie, and an early bedtime! Isn't this tiny tux adorable?!
Well, it lost a lot of it's *cute* as I was trying to mercilessly shove it onto the body of my resistant three year old. He was NOT happy about wearing all of those pieces, even if we were all supposed to match. This is the "happy" ending, where he is dressed and I am consoling him with a juice box from the bride's room fridge.

Cooper LOVES his aunt Dayna and she's already a part of the family to him! He did tell me that this day was special because Colin was going to promise to "wub Dayna foreber"!

The "wedding plan" was altered a bit due to a sour attitude about sitting quietly in a church pew. Thank goodness for technology! He didn't make it for family pictures, but I doubt that any of us will ever forget that he was there! : )

My brothers, Jon and Adam.

Me and Colin, the handsome groom!

Cheers to a new family and a precious new sister for me!
Congrats Dayna and Colin!

Growing Up Fast!

Can you believe how big he is getting? *Sigh*

A Boy's Life...

... is hunting for worms.

After the rainy month of December, Cooper discovered many, many creatures who sought refuge in our garage. He set out to find them all and return each to the driveway where they could "find their family".

"Hmmm... I fink dis worm maybe bwoke his weg. He is not moving. Hmmm..."

The simple joys of being a mom to a little boy!
