Bates Hotel

We love hosting friends at the Bates Hotel (much friendlier than the famous Bates Motel!) Ashley and Grayson stopped by on their way to a cruise leaving from Galveston. We had just enough time to have dinner, a slumber party, and a few hundred games of Go Fish. While Ashley and I visited and sipped coffee, Grayson became Cooper's new BFF by playing hide and go seek, pirate ship, and anything else a 5 year old could dream up.

We love you guys and we'll try not to be jealous that you're cruising this morning while we head back to school!

Operation: SNOW!

Well, in January we checked one big thing off of Cooper’s “bucket list” – SEE SNOW! (And in the process checked off another one – RIDE ON AN AIRPLANE!)

Our trip was everything we imagined:

building snowmen, making snow angels, sledding, sipping hot chocolate and licking icicles.

That Cat

Just waiting for neighbor kids to come out and play, that cat found Cooper. He always does. He lives across the street and loves to visit.

That cat waits on our back porch for a little boy to greet him in the mornings and pat his little head. He circles around Cooper and seemingly wags his tail. He bounds across the grass to meet our car in the afternoons.

 

That cat poops in my flowerbeds, gets hair on my patio furniture and makes me sneeze. I’m not a fan.

But Cooper loves him. And I love watching that cat make my little boy smile!
