Berry Picking

Growing up in Oregon, we had plenty of opportunities to pick fresh berries from the orchard. It's one of my favorite memories! I make a point to take Cooper several times a season to pick strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. This was the last weekend for strawberries, so we loaded up Lolli and Pop and headed out berry picking.

These little red wagons are so fun, but this may be our last trip to use one -
Cooper BARELY fit and the wheels squeaked the whole way! I told him next time he can pull ME!

Cooper has the best grandparents in the entire world. I'm serious.

Delicious!

Cooper wanted to be with "the boys" so he and Pop worked together to find the best strawberries for our homemade ice cream.

It didn't last long before he wanted to be near Mom and had to hop over the rows of strawberries!

Juicy face!

At the end of the season, the berries are small, but very sweet. You can eat an entire berry in a single bite!

Just to prove that I was present at this family outing, I handed off my camera to my mom for one last shot as we were leaving. I'm working hard to put myself in pictures (even if they're not the most flattering!!) so Cooper has memories of his MOM in his childhood photos!

Chalk Painting

The new summer craze around here is watercolor chalk painting.
Start with chalk and add water - the colors brighten and blend.
Voila!

It attracts neighborhood kids like a magnet!
(we really need more than one hose...)
