Dorothy and the (not so) Cowardly Lion

With his red hair and sweet round face, Fabi just had to be a lion for Halloween. My mother insisted that if he was going to be a lion, I needed to be Dorothy. Courtesy of my wonderful mom, Fabi and I were the best dressed couple at the Lena Pope Home Fall Festival (my foster care agency). I was definitely the only adult who dressed up (although I'm sure some people were questioning how "adult" I really was when I arrived wearing pigtails and ruby slippers.) We didn't get very many photos of Fabi in his adorable costume that night, so our personal photographer, Chad Underwood, helped me capture some moments with the "not so cowardly" lion.

Even the cutest lions get grouchy sometimes.... especially around bedtime. I guess the photo shoot is over! But we sure had a wonderful time and some great photos to show for it! : )

Lauren's Wedding Shower

We celebrated Lauren's wedding with a Fort Worth shower this summer. It is such a treat to have her in Fort Worth since she's now living in Denver. And we have become quite the wedding experts after 3 of us have gotten married in the past 18 months. : )

While the ladies were "showering" Lauren, Chad and Grayson graciously baby-sat Fabi in the next room. They were quite the nannies, if I do say so myself!

Lazy Days of Summer

Some of my favorite times are those spent just "playing" in the backyard. Fabi is truly an "outside boy". He is the happiest when he can be dirty and free. I am the happiest when I watch his delight in listening to the dog next door or throwing his big red ball. Summer is the best!

Our New House

In May, I became a homeowner! Exciting!
The best things about owning a home:

1. Having a garage when it's raining (as opposed to running up 3 flights of stairs in the rain with a baby in tow!)

2. Learning new skills, such as mowing the lawn, killing huge colonies of fire ants, and changing air filters.

3. Appreciating everything your parents did around the house when you were growing up...

Easter 2007

We attended the annual TCU Alumni Easter Egg Hunt last year and had a great time. Although he wasn't walking (barely crawling, in fact!) he still "hunted" eggs with the best of them. (It's a good thing Mommy was kind of competitive, or Fabi would have been left in the dust without a single egg!) Fabi was extremely brave to visit with this Easter Bunny, considering that I didn't really even like the looks of him. It was all about the photo op!

... But he'll thank me for this photo some day when he is applying to be a TCU Horned Frog!

I couldn't resist the bunny ears. He is just the cutest!
